So I started gardening.

1st picture: grapes (planted last year before I moved in), cucumbers, and black eyed peas.
2nd picture: Three different kinds of tomatoes, green bell peppers, japanese eggplant, zucchini, and cantaloupe.
In our new place there is a large fenced off lot behind our backyard lawn that is also part of the property. My landlord is a really cool Greek dude with an awesome garden in his backyard. I set this up the last couple of days with his help. I can't wait for my first "fresh from the garden" tomatoes.

You know the problem with living in Florida? I dont have any fucking dirt. My whole god damn yard is a layer of grass stuck in sand. Dont get me wrong i love the beach but i cant get shit to grow in this yard. Well aside from some vine that i cant seem to kill.

I bet you could start up a killer raised garden if you have the space. Bringing in some good dirt might be a problem though.

Re: So I started gardening.
No garden this year. My mom and I normally do a decent sized garden 25x30 but not this year, we both got second jobs. She plants all kinds of stuff, I mostly like corn, potatoes, carrots, and peppers. I eat some tomatoes and peas. The cucumbers, bell peppers are all hers. We did cantaloupe one year but it rained to much... haha, been dry the past couple years since. Its a lot of work but very satisfying to eat vegetables you have grown.

Are the grapes next to the tomatoes?
I've had issues in the past with bugs and caterpillars from grape vines eating my tomato crops.

Re: So I started gardening.
Man this looks awesome.. I plant a garden every year here in Oklahoma.. This year i started early and grew my plants inside.. I took them out to get use to being outside for about a week.. On day 6 it was so nice i decided to plant them. On day 7 the mother trucking wind blew up to gust of 70 mph.. Now my awesome garden is nothing but some twigs.. So pissed. Debating if i should buy some plants from the store and replant them or water and if they grow they grow.. man i was pissed.. still pissed..
But yours is looking awesome keep it up

Fresh tomatoes are great. My mother is a Grandmaster Gardener (yeah it's a certification and there's a group lol) and I used to eat them right off the bush. Do you have any cherry tomatoes? Those were my favorites haha
