Thread: New games for MoufRoof

I just went and picked up Left 4 dead and TF2. I'm going to get them installed tonight. If anyone wants to get on and show me the ropes let me know.

I would, but i know nothing of how to play TF2, unless you want to play a game of who is more newbish? lol

I got L4D installed, now I just need someone to get on a TTP server with me. I played a few rounds of single player. I like this game so far.

The first time I played online last night I was very frustrated. Complete asshats. Nobody had a mic and the only guy who really seemed to know the maps didn't give two shits about helping out. Dat Nigga Tyrone just left us in the dust and would occasionally run back to help if he got into trouble or I would say something in the mic.

The second time I got on was awe inspiring for the first day to own a game. This guy Mal25 joined and it was on. He knew every map like the back of his hand. Where to go, where to hide, how to arrange the gas cans and HE USED HIS MIC! TTP material all the way. He didn't even know what TTP was. I was trying to explain it to him, but I was coming off like a salesman so I just let it go. I did add him to my friends list though. Hopefully, I can get him in the forums. After this experience I see the potential the game has and I really liked it.

What I don't like is Steam. What kind of obtrusive ass program is this shit? I have to join groups to get servers to show up in game? My buddy has L4D and he came by tonight to check my problems out. He said my version was different than the one he has. There is no way to just connect to an IP from the main menus and I can't choose what character I want when I do join. Even on an empty server. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I would think I could just connect like you can in BF2. Also, only 2 TTP servers show up after I joined the TTP group and they are the same if you choose campaign or versus. Oh yeah, a manual would be nice.

I'm not going this to let me down. The game is cool and I am about to get that shit started in a minute.

go to options. Enable your server browser for the tilde or ~ key.

when in the main menu before you start playing open your server browser (one just like in bf2) by typing "openserverbrower" and pressing enter in console.


or you can look for some of the experienced guys on your friends list and get them to start a lobby before you join to help you out.

I have not tried tf2 yet, but I've been wanting to. I got it installed and created a server just to see what the game looks like. Maybe I will try it out this evening. I hate that it doesn't have a single player mode so you can learn a little before jumping right in. I am going to get my ass handed to me.
