A bit of lobbying
Just asking if anyone wants to speak up on my behalf. I see some of you guys fairly frequently in game, so if any of you are willing to tell the admins I am generally a decent sort of fellow and that I should be unbanned I would be grateful.

Re: A bit of lobbying
Just my two cents, but the admins can make up their own minds about you. This kinda stunt makes you look very foolish. You got banned for a reason dude, I would keep my commentary to the banned forums. You're just making yourself look desperate and desperate people usually have done something wrong.
Again, this is just based on the things I've seen on the forums here. You not taking your banning seriously makes you look like a chump.

Re: A bit of lobbying

People are only allowed to post in a unban request thread if they are directly involved. Your actions and attitude will help decide your fate. Popularity, opinions, or childish antics like this will not.

Re: A bit of lobbying
I did do something wrong. That's why they banned me. I fully admit that. I'm just trying to see if I can demonstrate that my long record of not doing things wrong merits a second chance, and that my fuck up was both provoked and an aberration.
In order to do that I figure I need character witnesses, and since I see some of the IRON guys around in that server quite a bit, I figured maybe someone would be willing to say "yes, we've seen him around, he's generally a decent citizen".

Re: A bit of lobbying
Yeah but what I'm saying is if you trust in the process these guys have laid down instead of begging people to stick up for you (like it will matter) you might get much farther with your unban request. Again, like the guy above me said it's not for me to comment on this...you have an open unban request...I would stick to that forum.

Re: A bit of lobbying
Hmmm... I honestly didn't think of this as childish. I thought of it as legitimately trying to generate a record in seeking a second chance by asking if some folks who may be familiar with me if they would give an honest opinion about me.
But they're your forums I suppose.
I'll see if I can't figure out how to delete the thread, or if an admin would like to do so I will thank them for same

Re: A bit of lobbying
I mean the bottom line is even if you COULD get someone to vouch for you, they couldn't say anything in your unban request thread, or face a site ban themselves. If they weren't a direct witness to the reason you got banned, they can't say jack shit bro. Sorry.

I like your little smiley face in your unban request after you mentioned that you reinstalled CSS and some people said the screen wasn't shaking anymore, lmao, I thought that was funny as hell, as in, Admin:"oh, some people said it wasn't shaking anymore, oh okay, your unbanned then" The smiley face part was just over the top though, I thought it was a foolish move, but that's just imo.

It's like going to court for auto-theft and having your mommy vouch on how, "Timmy was such a good wittle boy growing up."

Re: A bit of lobbying
Slim,
You're a regular on the server, many admins have played with you before....one of the most important requirements for you to be unbanned is for you to fess up to your mistake and be honest about wanting to stay in the community and abiding by the rules. That's all you need.
The admins will not be amused by anyone vouching for you in any way...you got banned for your actions, you'll be unbanned by the way you handle the situation yourself.
Just keep it simple and honest and you'll be fine.
