Thread: Intresting day at work

I get to the site and get my tool to get an area ready. Of which one is a buffer with a scarifer head attachment. The reason i meantion it is because you cant run it on extention cords it gets to hot and can burn up the motor. The electricians gave us 1 hot socket to work with inside the pod. As soon as i'm up and running everyone ties their crap onto it.

I go to do that particular room and now there 7 cords and a bunch of battery packs charging. I say loudly everyone needs to move their shit so i can do this room. About a dozen people look at me and go back to what they were doing. So i yank all the cords and battieries and put them outside the room. The smallest guy in the area comes over and starts telling me i cant just pull everyone stuff and orders me to plug it all back in.

So i tell him that the outlet is for the flooring for the reason i already said and he tells me to plug it in. I tell him no everything remains unplugged until i finish the room in about 10 minutes then after that i dont care if you plug into it. I even try to explain to him that this particular tool if it grabs a cord could break my wrist.

Well this is where it got interesting now everyone is looking because this clown is screaming at me because he wants to plug in to that outlet neverminding the fact that there is an outlet in reach of his cord just outside the pod. I don't know how long it's been but i know it's been quite a long time since i've had to deal with stupidity like this.

His screaming at me isn't working because i learned to ignore that shit along time ago so he hits me in the chest. First mistake if your going to hit someone it should always be for a one shot down type deal. I returned with a punch dead center of his face and put him on his ass. He gets back up and wants to fight but by then other drywallers are on top of him and dragging him to the other side of the pod.

Of course hes running his mouth and i was just standing there kind of laughing a bit and threw one comment out that he needs to remember i throw material around all day that weighs more then he does. As far as im concerned the fight is over with a woping two punches thrown. 30 minutes later the gereral contractor is questioning me about what my side of the story is because the guy went and told on me for hitting him and looking at his face it's pretty obvious that someone did.

He explains that the police have been called and will be there shortly. Then an electrician chimes in and tells him what went down in detail because he was right there the whole time. So now the guy has started a fight, went and told on someone hoping to get me kicked from the site, and got arrested. Pretty interesting day as far as im concerned. I'm not pressing charges but i guess he'll have to see if the da is.

Like i said first time i've been in a fight in quite a while. For the same reason i always try to avoid them doesn't matter if you win or lose your both sore afterwards and it remains true my hand hurts. All that over pulling a cord so i could scarify a floor and he didnt want to walk 30 feet to a temperary power poll.

LOL no i havent shaved yet this week but far from a beard and i didn't continue to kick the shit out of him. Unfair advantage on my side. I'm over a foot taller than he is and am long past the whole punk ass kid stage. If i had to guess i would say he was 22 23 years old. At almost 38 i have no problem kicking his nuts through his ass bring a quick end to a fight. He should be glad it didnt come to that seeing as i wear steel toe boots at work.
