AA3 Made for TTP
Got through basic, did AIT.. and played some multiplayer. This game is MADE for us.. no big shock, really. I played on a couple different servers and NO ONE is talking, people are running off doing random shit... man.. we need a server and we need it fast. Need TTP action on this.. I can only imagine how great this will be with well coordinated squads, a commander, objectives... yeah.. when the kinks get worked out, I'd love to see it here.
I like this game.

there's something about it that invites more specific strategy as well I think. In cod4 you can be really specific about who goes where and does what, but it's too fast paced for that to really be beneficial in the long run. This game is just begging you to put your SDM back on the hill, have Walker sprint out to the truck for cover, and sneak a two guys up to the farm door. It's gonna be awesome.

Exactly.. It's almost like a combination of PR + CS + COD.. the pacing is slower than what I get the impression COD and CS are like, but faster than PR, but more in line with that game's tactics

Re: AA3 Made for TTP
It's the realism of ArmA or PR, but focused just on the infantry combat. I've never really had a firefight in PR, I just died because PR focuses more on the big picture. AA3 showcases infantry squad tactics that other games don't. I have played ArmA like this once, but it wasn't as much fun.

Aha, I suppose my message finally caught on after all the bitching about servers.
:PMe: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"

The servers still suck right now, and the game has a lot of improving to do

Re: AA3 Made for TTP
I played in a server till about 3 am last night, we had the VOIP going and it was fricken awesome. This one guy was giving orders and we all followed, we cleared buildings together and secured objectives, it was really nice.
The voip works pretty well, you can have a commander guy who choses where the squads spawn before the round starts, its really tactical and takes alot of strategy.
I really just wish there was AA though, the jaggies are killing me.

As long as the games working fine i think TTP should get a server, definitely a TTP game

Re: AA3 Made for TTP
One bad thing I have about gameplay (so far) is that it gets repetitive if one map is played too much. I played about 2 hours of Ranch VIP, and I ended up going to the same spots every round after a while.
Hopefully, TTP'll have a working AA3 server by the time I get back from camp next week
