So SC came out with version 2.0 last weekend. I only know because one on you nagged me until I bought it, not because he wanted me to enjoy a really cool new game, which I think it is. Nooooo he just wanted someone to co-pilot his new shiny big ship with him. But that was what was really cool for me. You know how it takes a really good crew to effectively operate a attack helo or big boat (sue me I can't remember their name) in Battlefield 4? Well imagine a spaceship, with a crew of 5 in a battle with multiple enemy craft (both NPC and PVP). Whether you were the pilot or one of 2 co-pilots (which controlled the distribution of shields or power output to the engines) or one of 2 manned turrent gunners the action was pretty fun. Admittedly the game is still being developed so don't rush out and buy it expecting to play for hours or sometimes minutes with no crashing. Also don't expect to jump right in and own one of these monstrous multiplayer spaceships.
The developers are paying for this project by selling ships. The base package is a little over $40, in which you get the choice of 1 of 2 small single person ships. The larger multiplayer ships go for over $200. After the games release you will be able to buy new ships with the in game currency. There will also be a large amount of first person shooter elements, which were also released with version 2.0.
This so big I can't even begin to describe everything here. Below is a short video of some of the things included with the latest patch. Also there is a lot of material to read at https://robertsspaceindustries.com

I know there was a lot of talk earlier this year about this game, but I thought I would give my 2 cents worth since I didn't care before and I didn't pay attention.
