Did Battlefield 3 update recently?

Because my hit detection once again sucks... Seems every time they fiddle with the netcode I get more misses than kills... Yesterday I OFTEN had the drop on people , sank entire clips into them then they'd spin round one shot me with 70% health. Anyone else getting this, and how can I fix it...

There was a server-side update (R17) that went live on the 1/14. The only details we have on it are 'Security fixes' for the mass kill/knife hacks.

Funny that you mention this... for the past few days I had nothing else than really awful rounds, that I, too, attributed to hit detection inconsistencies...

Strange that on the 15th, i played great (well, above average for my norm). Then last night was the worst personal performance i ever had. I would blame the wife on streaming netflix but my hit detection and ability to avoid incoming fire was sub-par before that. When she did start streaming, my game went completely in the shitter. It sucked too since i was in a great squad on Metro with Ten and Nih, but i was holding us back with my incredibly poor performance (Sorry guys, i was really looking forward to kicking some ass with you guys).

I can see how patching a knife hack would affect hit detection. It makes sense I think. That means that DICE probably went with the easy fix; not the best fix.

I'm going to fiddle that dumbass no markings slider (Me thinks a placebo) to see if it changes!

Funny I heard those hacks are good at circumventing lag issues :P

Seriously though I run at average 90 ping, I want a "section" of the latency bar to be like "Heres where 90+ ping ppl are" or and this is a crazy idea... MOVE THE HIT DETECTION TO THE SERVER SIDE!!! This is the worst game for hit detection, even bc2 was better. :/

I noticed a little something as well last 2 nights. Mostly in the tank canister shells. People walking right through it, sometimes 1 -2 times point blank shots. I was thinking they dumbed it down or something but who knows.

I noticed a lot of peeps complaining about the hit detection as well the last few days.
