soldiers are forced to deliberately fight against hopeless odds (with the foreknowledge that they will suffer extremely high casualties) in an effort to achieve a strategic goal. An example is the trench warfare in World War I. The term may also be used (somewhat pejoratively) to differentiate infantry from other forces (such as artillery, air force or the navy), or to distinguish expendable low-grade or inexperienced soldiers from supposedly more valuable veterans.
The term derives from fodder, food for livestock. Soldiers are the metaphorical food for enemy cannon.
keep up the good work scot your saving lives in your own way

Since you are new to BC2, I suggest that you play the regular game first, get used to things, and then try Hardcore. There's a big different between both games.
I remember playing the regular game and then jumped on Hardcore and it was nasty, spawn die, spawn die, spawn die.... LoL. I decided to continue the regular and then when TPG had Hardcore again, I went in and got used to it.
