Dont lose faith. I just started playing last month and jumped right into the TPG HC server... talk about trial by fire. Personally, im enjoying the vanilla server better, i seem to be able to hold out longer and kill more. The last few rounds i played i felt i was getting better, but it was tough to get into it at first because i was getting killed so much/quickly. Its hard to feel like your helping the team when you spend more time staring at the respawn timer than enemys in your gun sights. But it gets better, and a lot more fun with your able to hold your own in an effective squad.

I think any game on TPG soil has harsh learning curves.. DoD isn't much different, I noticed

Cannon fodder is an informal, derogatory term for military personnel who are regarded or treated as expendable in the face of enemy fire. The term is generally used in situations where soldiers are forced to deliberately fight against hopeless odds (with the foreknowledge that they will suffer extremely high casualties) in an effort to achieve a strategic goal. An example is the trench warfare in World War I. The term may also be used (somewhat pejoratively) to differentiate infantry from other forces (such as artillery, air force or the navy), or to distinguish expendable low-grade or inexperienced soldiers from supposedly more valuable veterans.
The term derives from fodder, food for livestock. Soldiers are the metaphorical food for enemy cannon.[1]

    Guyver,

Since you are new to BC2, I suggest that you play the regular game first, get used to things, and then try Hardcore. There's a big different between both games.

I remember playing the regular game and then jumped on Hardcore and it was nasty, spawn die, spawn die, spawn die.... LoL. I decided to continue the regular and then when TPG had Hardcore again, I went in and got used to it.

LOL. That was funny watching you and my 18yo son going neck and neck for Ace the other night. You ended up beating him out by about 4 points. So with that, id say "Old man that plays with the reflexes of and 18yo".
