Thread: Request BattleRecorder for February PR match

I am requesting that we try to run Battlerecorder for the February PR Match. This would allow all of those who take part in this match and others to download and replay the match. It would also give us an opportunity to create movies that show more than just a first person view, and allow us to show the complexity and full scale of our battles. The use of Battlerecorder would also provide a very good tool to promote our server, as it would encourage more people to make movies that would help to spread the word about TTP. I am not asking that this be implemented on the regular server all the time, simply that it be tested on the February PR match.

How much does this program cost?

It's free mac, it comes with BF2, if a server is running it, you can go into your community tab in the BF2 menu screen and download the battle you just played. (Files are usually around the 1mb size for an hour).

that is not that much, is the quality high or low, it would seem to be low with that compression

All it needs are the data points for the game that happened and it re-ccreates the game using your 3d rendering hardware the same way it plays the game.


But all that being said, battle recorder is too intensive and would affect the other games runing with it. Or at least that was the last consensus on battle recorder.
