If its a Valve game, no doubt about it. Saving money and pre-loading is nice.

FYI, persons can select more than one answer on poll.
I usually will not pre order, but a great demo/beta could change that."The bravery of idiots is bravery none the less."

Re: To preorder or not to preorder....that is the question
This is a hard question.
If preordering meant you get unique content (that does not get switched to become DLC or even free at a later point in time) it might get me to. But after BF3 ... I will likely just order when the bug actually gets me after or on release.

Re: To preorder or not to preorder....that is the question
If I know I'll buy it eventually, and pre-ordering saves money or gets me content I'm interested in, yes

Re: To preorder or not to preorder....that is the question
Valve, Blizzard and Bethesda are the only companies I would consider preordering from(RIP Black Isle). I've never played a game made by any of those 3 that I didn't absolutely love. Plus, all 3 of them are far more honest and upfront about their games than companies like EA and Activision. To be honest Blizzard being bought out by Activision makes me nervous about pre-ordering from them as well...WoW went to shit in a hurry after that happened.
The complete lack of demo availability drives me nuts...I hate playing a game without having had a chance to play...I don't have time to play betas for games, especially games from developers that I've either not had any dealings with, or no good dealings with in the past. To be perfectly honest I usually torrent a copy or borrow from a friend to play the first couple of levels and if it's worth buying, then I'll buy it. If not I just uninstall and move on.
