Re: Melee against Magic
Magic resistance. There are two types in game, so you can dual enchant with two levels of MR at once that stack.. One is unique to certain item while the other is common.
I have a shield and ring that each confer 53% or something.. so with those I am unbeatable by mages.

Re: Melee against Magic
The only shouts I use are WW Sprint and Dragonrend. One is obvious, but WW Sprint allowed me to get hidden treasure.. pretty sure it is the only way to get to certain places in many dungeons. Sounds like you make way better use of shouts than I do ... no skill points for their use so I never really thought much about using any of the other shouts.

Re: Melee against Magic
Using the Sign of the Atronarch or however you spell will also give you a 50% resistance to magic. It'll hinder your level ups slightly if you're using one of the original 3 stones but it's an option I frequently use

They're just too shiny

Re: Melee against Magic
Thanks for the suggestion, this has helped me a lot, as I have shit enchanting and was using a terrible for my class stone(shadow)
And Yeah I use Unrelenting Force all the time, the problem is when there are more then one, the recharge is so long. I think I've used WW sprint a grand total of twice though.

Re: Melee against Magic
Don't forget resistance potions either. If you have a decently leveled alchemy you can make 50% resistance potions pretty easily...not to mention all the random ones I pick up all over the place. Grabbing the Shield of Solitude, Ysgramor or Spellbreaker for your shield can give you a decent boost to magic resistance too(Spellbreaker acts like a ward spell while Ysgramor and Shield of Solitude just grants flat magic resistance).
