Thread: Diablo 3: What are you playing as?

Just wondering what everyone is planning on choosing to play as their main character at launch, hence, poll.

(Please forgive me if I fuck it up)

DH or Barbarian, not sure what I'm going first though

Did they scrap the classes from D2? Sorceress, amazon, paladin? are is the Wizard teh new sorceress and the demon hunter teh new amazon?

I believe the D2 classes are going to act in the same fashion as the D1 characters in d2. Hopefully they're not ALL batshit crazy/bosses, a couple helpful npcs with other responsibilities would be cool.

Demon hunter as far as i can tell is a mix between the assassin and the amazon in a loose sense, she doesn't take all that much from either, just styles and themes.

I'm leaning towards demon hunter or wizard myself.

It looks like Wizard is very close to old Sorceress, with some additional time stop style abilities. I had read an interview where they said "Yeah, we didn't want to take that style of character out so it's similar." Apparently there's +spell damage % items now, so gear will be more important for wizard than it was for sorceress in d2. Demon Hunter looks fun so i will probably give that a try.

Really want the Witch Doctor... but I'm going to go out on a limb and try the Monk.

Probably try the Witch Doctor... I liked the Necromancer in D2 so he seems more like that class...

In terms of fun I had from playing the beta to 13ish on every class, here was my enjoyment of them:

Monk/Wizard > Barbarian > Demon Hunter > ...

So yar, I'm probably going to be starting with Monk.

I love the character/background and appearance of Demon Hunter, but I think I want to try the gameplay of Barbarian.
