Thread: Total War

Has anyone played any of the games from the Total War series?

EG-
Rome: TW
Medieval/ Medieval 2: TW
etc?

If you havn't, and you dig Very large scale (Not to mention epic) battles, I recommend you give this series a try. I personally have Rome, and its expansion Barbarian Invasion, and I love both of them. Graphics and such aren't pretty, but they get the job done well enough.

Their next installment "Empire:TW" will be hooked with STEAM, and... Judging by movies and such, its going to be several levels of Outstanding.

I have them all and bought Shogun: Total War the day it came out whatever year that was, I drool now to see Empire: Total War coming out in march, get to fight with ships for the first time.

I played Rome: Total war and the Barbarian Invasion expansion.  I keep meaning to pick up Medeival 2: Total War, but never seem to have the money or the time to play it.

My machine has trouble running R:TW at double/triple speeds... Only reason I don't have Medieval, my FPS was shit in the demo.

No one can run R:TW on huge numbers at triple speed well. I think it's just made that way.

Medieval actually has a lot better FPS in the real game than demo, but not so much that if you couldn't play it at minimum settings normal speed with at least okay FPS, that it'll help enough to matter if you want large numbers or anything like that.

On topic, I fucking LOVE Total War games. Gonna buy ETW the day it hits steam, despite a few worries about the real-time world map and such. Medieval 2 and Rome were both awesome!

Own all of them. Empire: TW looks sick.

I mean naval combat, cannons, muskets and dueling? What is there to not like!?!

^ The multiplayer looks pretty damn good to me. We should have TTP battles à la the Civ4 battles that are happening.

I thought Empires:TW was like Valentines day-ish??

I was wrong, or it just got pushed back within the last month because before XMas I saw Feb 14-19 time frame
