See, this is your first mistake. Atheists only have one thing in common, and that's a lack of belief in god(s). What one or another of us prides ourselves on has thing to do with this lack of belief.

People actually notice billboards? I probably drive by like 3-4 a day, and I have no idea what the hell they even say. I can't even remember the last billboard I actually saw O_O.

I see them every once in awhile. They've never actually shown me a product/service that I was interested in, but I do see and read the billboards occasionally.

When the president of American Atheists, David Silverman came to give a talk at my school, I was wondering what he meant by the new billboard campaign coming March. This makes a whole lot of sense, now. As the article mentions, the goal of these billboards is to show people who are atheists in various communities that they are not alone. Other atheists do exist out there.

As for Atheism being a religion, I would say you need to go look up the definition of the word religion again because you are dead wrong.

From the Merriam-Webster dictionary:

the service and worship of God or the supernatural
commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance

a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

Atheists by definition LACK faith so just by sheer definition, they CANNOT be a religion.

Either way they both believe or don't believe in something, which makes them the same regardless.

Bull. They believe that there is no God. Therefore, these billboards are merely pushing their belief system onto others.
