Thread: Bought SC2

So after the months have passed I finally decided to get it. Some friends of mine IRL have been playing it a lot recently and my APB buds are getting boring. Although my friends may be able to help me out, I know a lot of you and would like to possibly get a game going and learn a few things. No real experience in the RTS department but it seems fun. Haven't been very active on TPG games so I look forward to reuniting with you all. Help a fellow noob out!

Downloading it while I sleep and will be playing it when I get home tomorrow most likely.

Played about 5 matches today, got rolled in all of them. I guess I need to stick to FPS...

Lessons I have learned.

Scout early, scout often. Harass early, harass often until you can get enough forces to win.

Learn the other races so you can scout and see what build they are going. Learn the early build. Like for protoss it is safe to start going 4 gate until you scout and see a roach build. Then you tech up and get immortals.

Once you have one build down, move to another. Practice, practice, practice! Search youtube for HDstarcraft or Huskystarcraft and watch a few videos. You will quickly see what works and what does not for you race.

MAYBE! It's just weird that people are telling me "Yeah this is only my second match" and then rip me to shit. I need to play all 50 practice games and go through the campaign though to understand it all.

Ive never played a practice match but from what I can tell it prepares you for...nothing

yea practice matches run real slow ive heard. dont waste your time it spoils you
