After slaving away for over a year, the fine folks at Polycount have unveiled their new community site for video game artwork. Given that a year is roughly the time it takes for us to post a blog update, you can imagine our immediate and deeply-held suspicion that they probably used magic. Possibly black magic. I won't bore you with the details, but long story short, we immediately raced to their office, armed with holy water and fire, to confront them. Several police officers informed us that we were mistaken, and then made us apologize to the wizards, and then made us stop calling them wizards.

If I'm not mistaken, we wouldnt be able to see these models on TTP - sv_pure 2 and all.

I can see (and use) the homewrecker just fine.... Same with a lot of the new hats.

The only things you can't use on TTP would be a custom skin that is not brought into the game by Valve.

This is why this is so sweet. While all those "skins" at FPSbanana and other similar sites are not valve approved and therefore unusable on our servers, THESE skins will be officially released by Valve much like the Sam and Max items, therefore usable in our servers. (from my understanding)

As I understand it these aren't just skins, they are community made items and weapons. Sv_pure shouldn't matter.

If they are custom content, be it models or textures...and they're not on the whitelist, sv_pure will block them. Unless, I'm missing something.

It's an official contest held by Valve and Polycount. They are asking the community to design 3 new items with a common theme for one of the classes and they will be put in the game.

This is no different then the other community items that have been put into the game.
